candlepower.com offers some higher intensity bulbs. Be careful of melting your lenses or housings!

I do not believe they offer anything for the E46 reverse bulb that is better than here (they do have great lights, I have used them exclusively on two cars now).

The brightest reverse lights out there are the HID kits, they run about $150 or more and take a bit of work....IMHO not worth it.

Next are the 10W LED's but they are almost totally directional and that has been brought up above.

Next are the 7W, and these are what's here

Any need for load resistors with these Cree 7w backup bulbs? Some of the Ebay ads mention it...

These can be used as reverse lights as well as turn signals. Brightest lights we have ever tested.

I did not need resistors for mine, the EBay ad did not mention them. If u think u might need them, ask the seller. And if u do then ask him what their return policy might be, I did not want to deal with resistors.

Unfortunately your exact type - I checked your link - is unavailable on EBay from what I found or else I wouldn't be so cautious...and most all the other EBay ads say you 'may' need a resistor, not guaranteeing they'll work without it...and I don't want to deal with that either.

Pull one of your current bulbs out and put your car in reverse. If you get a light-out indicator on your dash, get resistors. This is the ONLY reason you would need resistors.

maybe consider these ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-CREE-LED-1...d9ff69&vxp=mtr

but i see what you mean, this add also states "If you are using these LED light bulbs to replace the Turn Signal blinker light, Tail brake Stop light, Parking/Running light, Daytime Running Driving light DRL or the light on latest / European vehicles; depending on your vehicle electric circuit, you may need to add a pair of Load Resistor to prevent hyper/error flashing, error code message or malfunction problem"

I think most sellers are saying the same thing to protect themselves, they don't know which vehicles the light are going in and if people are having error codes, but I think you might be ok

Decided to go with these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231056699993

Prices seem to be coming down, so that's good.
