Mike Essa's Drift Turbo M3

Some history Mike Essa used to run a Z4M S54 equipped with a Garrett GTX3582R Turbo and Pectel Engine Management tuned by Neel Vasavada @ Apex Speed Tech.
GSR Autosport put it all together, and keeps it in mint form for his events.

I had the pleasure last year at one of Shift S3ctors track events to meet the GSR crew and go for a ride with Mike Essa in his Turbo Z4M beast and was blown away.

Anyways...

He now has all that...in an E46 M3 with some trick wisefab steering upgrades among the rest better described with pictures in this article:

Also here is the video from the last event where he won the Motegi Super Drift Challenge:

(Yes Matt Powers got the judges vote but they were clearly retarded...no joke anyone can tell the real winner in this video)

Essa clearly took that Motegi battle, judges were on crack! Good Sh!t, dude can drive. I even think he took his heat battle at Longbeach, no love for the //M I guess from the judges..

How can you really judge drifting? That's one thing I never understood.

Im big in to drift and the M3 lost this one due to the proximity that the s-14 kept on him. if you look at the first run the s-14 is with in 1-2feet of the m3 the whole run but when the m3 has to follow there is a gap of at least 8 feet most of the run...

drifting is judged by speed angle. line and proximity to the other driver. So if you have nasty crazy angel but no proximity then you loose since the goal is to stay close or to out run your competitor while maintaining at least 45 degree angels in the turns..

Yeah now that I watch the motegi one again... I'd still put essa up on the lead run, powers stickin pretty close, with less angle. But yeah, powers clearly took his lead run..
