Park light by gear shift

Anyone noticed the park indicator light by the gear shift remain on for 10 min or so after turning off the car?

There is a light (park indicator light) by the shift lever on my 2003 330xi sport with automatic transmission. When you shut the car off, it remains on till you lock the door(s). On my 2003 325xi with 5 speed manual transmission, there is no light.

Yup, normal. But when you lock the car, it should just turn off.

Thanks for that. It was driving me crazy thinking it was electrical. My last 325 was a manual.

I have a 03 325i the park indicator light does not shut off. The car sat for a few days and drained the battery. Had the battery checked, it's OK. Any ideas? Thanks.
