Thinking about purchasing a brand new pickup.

I only have two options. And I don't care about gas mileage at all. I want something that I can use for offroading, light work and something that is reliable as well. Wanted to know the opinion of the E46 Crowd.

My two options are:

2012 Ford F250 6.2L 4x4
2012 Chevy Silverado 5.3L 4x4.

By the way Im living in Venezuela now so thats why I don't care about gas mileage and the Diesel engines for both those trucks don't exist here. Id pick a toyota from the start if the Tundra didn't cost $192.000,00 USED. So toyotas are out of the question.

Which would you choose then?

Chevy. Fords blow.

Ford. Although they both blow.

Thats what I thought too, but Ford have really stepped up in their game lately. The 6.2L has 385Hp and Torque is at 405 at 4500rpm.

why no GM? my dad picked up a 2012 GM 2500 Denali this year, hands down the nicest truck I have ridden in, was in a 2010 Ford big ass honkey truck, f-250 extended cab this summer - got to drive it to BC and back (14 ish hrs) and I didnt like the way it felt, way the suspension felt, steering, everything - felt cheap on the inside, drove cheap too, minus filling it up, that was not cheap... if you want a truck truck, buy a GM. imo... and that F-250 6.2L you have listed would be the 6.2 Diesel if I'm not mistaken, it would have the 5.3 gas like the chevy.

Never send a truck, to do a Sierra's job (the ad is at the bottom of this page )

yeah... but I would drive a GM over chevy.. just preference. that weird gold cross looking symbol gets me.

No thats the gas version. The 6.7 is the diesel with 400hp and 800 foot founds of torque.

Don't get me wrong I loved GM in the 1950's to the 1970's I had a 1974 c10 with 650 thousand miles on it. And I want to see if they are still that great. The one thing that I HATE about the Silverado is the interior, everything is too shiny and cheap and easy to break (at least the headlight switch), now grant that the ford also has that problem but to a less degree I think.
The interior on the Ford I think looks better. And I havant seen any f250 broken down yet on the roads here in Venezuela. Is the spark still there in GM's trucks in a new futuristic way? Because I still have memories with the C10.

dodge for the cummins?

I really like the King Ranch Interior.

And Ford has REALLY stepped up their game.

thats why i said for the cummins. to be honest, there all gonna be ****.

this is my friends truck on the right, by far the overall cleanest truck I have ever seen. He had a LOT done to it too. Mostly engine stuff though I think. Sadly he totaled it around 430 friday morning. Ripped the wheel and cv boots and all clean off. Shoulda seen the other car though haha.

Don't get me wrong the engine is great and used very widely but the truck is the devils taint. And I can't buy eather the RAM or the Diesel here.

Toyota Tacoma

^^^Yep or the Toyota Tundra.

Just wondering how much those two are in relation to the Toyota? Shame the Toyota is out of your price range it's a seriously underrated truck.

They don't sell the tacomas here. They do have the Hilux though and the Landcruiser but the line to wait for them is unreal. Besides Toyotas are a little more than double the price of the ford or chevy here.

I would have bought a toyota first if I could, believe me.
