Carbon fiber GTR style hood
ViS brand 4 dr e46 sedan cf gtr hood which was in an accident. The hood help up very well. Body shop says its definately an easy fix, it would have to be painted. If you plan to paint this, then this is a great buy. $400. I paid $1000.

Is the damage in the pictures the only damage? Right by the passenger side vent? Raised at all or just a crack?
Also, are you willing to ship? |

I will take better pics but yes it was a deer hit to mostly the fender which hit on the passenger side only the clear coat had cracked in a few other places but mainly that's all what you can see. I'd consider shipping at the buyers expense.

If there aren't any cracks in the cf itself or the hood at all I'm definitely interested. More pics would be great.

I'm sorry I will get more pics up soon. I still haven't been to the body shop to pick this up, but it needs to be done. I will try for tomorrow! No cracks to carbon fiber and the only thing that has cracks otherwise is just the clear coat. Body shop says its an "easy fix" and "fine hood" just would def have to be painted / re-cleared...

Only thing is I wouldn't want to paint it so if the cracks aren't toooooooo terrible I could live with it. Otherwise I'd find some other way of fixing it.

Cracked cf hoods are not worth much ! My cousin got excellent cond same hood for 400$ I know that was a steal but still.

Well if you can find this hood excellent for $400 you'd prob be buying it not looking for one, and it's worth something to a lot of people. Especially those who wanted to paint them anyhow!

cool cool. can you get a picture from the front of the hood when you get around to taking pictures with your camera? As if you're shooting the left headlight...in one of the earlier pictures it seemed like it was broken off, but can't really see any damage on these.

Can't you see any pictures? I hit a deer about 3 weeks after I got the hood. The passenger side near the corner by the headlamp and fender was cracked. Only the clear coat / epoxy resin has damage. The carbon fiber is not damaged. The body shop did day it's an easy fix with painting, I didn't ask exactly how hard or if possible to keep exposed cf...
There is a few other cracks to the coat / resin in a few other places where the push made it crack but none of it is really bad. Sent from BimmerApp mobile app |
