Annual Guys Dinner

So a buddy of mine is part of a social club in Providence.... about 30 or so guys, and once a year they do a huge dinner essentially from 12-5pm on the first or second saturday of december. This was last week.... we had 10 of the guys with us

Insane... absolutely insane.... grilled pizzas all day long, and just course, after course, after course, paired up with their homemade wine and grappa.

The host it in a huge garage, set up cafeteria style lol



walking in.... i think there were 150 tickets sold this year, it was packed. lol always lots of old timers in there, by far some of the best conversations i've had all year. everyone is so chill, nothing but ball busting and shooting the sh*t all day



antipasto with their homemade sopressata, and basically every marinated vegetable under the sun, italian tuna, olives, salami, proscuitto, crap loads of cheese....



snail salad (amazing,) fried smelts, shrimp, and crab stuffed mushrooms



RI style chowder and clam cakes with steamed clams and linguisa



smoked ribs, chicken, smoked and grilled cornbread, and chili



once the ribs came out, i had to break out my treat for the day... Arturo Fuente Opus X 1992 Rare Estate Reserve



mini shells with (all shellfish not pictured) clams, calamari, scallops, baby shrimp, and mussels... and crab stuffed sole



sauteed rabe, baked stuffed shrimp (not shown), baked potatoes, and prime rib



and here is the wine room... this year they made zinfandel, cabernet, petit sirah, cabernet franc, and a couple others.....





just an insane day all together... we just ate and ate and ate all day, smoked a nice cigar, and drank homemade red wine out of plastic cups

this is my 2nd year going, and no where's near my last... its like christmas eve on steriods with NO WOMEN ALLOWED

lol mike if you are still in boston, i'll give you the heads up... recently they have been doing a spring one as well, so i'm looking forward to May. $45 for the ticket, can't fvcking beat it if you tried.

last year i want to say it was the 14th, so my guess if they do it this year, it will be the 12th. there is no guarantee tho, they always do it in the winter, last year was the first year in a while they did a spring one

the other side of the property is all grass and gravel... had to be at least 30 cars crammed in there, as well as up and down 3 side streets... and another car lot that can fit a dozen across the street

Don't expect any different pics lol... i'm sure there will be a few other things on the menu this year, we'll see. Usually they don't change it up too much, but I will update with any other pics.
