when the nav app is actually speaking, press the status bar volume, also within the android settings there are some volume settings, its seems like something is turned down somewhere.....

My Ride: Audi a3 3.2 v6
Hi guys
I actually drive an audi but feel I could contribute a little to this thread and am also after a little information if anyone knows

I have owned a dynavin d99+ for about 6 months and seeing as my android side went bad (literally didn't turn on) I decided to make my own gps board and wire it all up ..

The board I have runs on a beaglebone black running The latest and greatest android jelly bean . I have it running really well (sound when gps speaks) and even managed to get the touch screen working using a custom driver and gpio on the beaglebone . Start up and shut down is managed via gpio and a small rechargeable battery

My only problem and it's pretty useless without it .. Is I cannot for the life of me work out the video specification that the dynavin unit is expecting

The pins in the dynavin board say r,g,b tft-sync and vsys . I originally took that as rgb and h+ vsync but it didn't work on any resolution any help would be much appreciated
Once I get the board up and running I'll be extremely willing to release the os image and set up guide

Thanks
Tom

I thought I would document on my experience with my newly purchased 2004 E46 with a DVN E46-AD installed in it.
I needed to clear out the old owner and set the system up for myself. I did receive the original box and in it the original flashing ROM but wanted to see if there was something better to install since the whole system is so old. After looking through other threads and this one I came across information about a ROM created by M3Evolution ( http://m3evolution.webs.com/dynavin-android-rom ) .

The site was still up and I sent email to the contact address listed. Even though its years later, I received a reply very quickly, with in 30 minutes. It was Tommy who responded and after a few exchanges of email back and forth I purchased their ROM. After formatting the SD Card Fat32 and making it active, I was able to update the firmware (remember to hit the NAV button so it goes into the android side since that is what is getting updated). The system is definitely improved over the stock ROM, although it is still old due to hardware constraints. The touch screen is still "challenging" to get the right touch/movement on and the wifi connectivity is still a bit unstable. With the new ROM I was finally able to get the latest version of Torque installed and to hook up to my bluetooth OBDII dongle. I was able to install the latest PowerAmp which works well and is pretty key for this setup.

So definite thumbs up to M3Evolution (now with their Avin site developing more Android systems) and Tommy for their quick responses and support. Also Jeff at J&T Distributing ( www.jandtdistributing.com ) was also responsive and helpful. Good to see that there is still some info/support for these old systems.
