Headers Thread
headers are a big deal on any e46, so i figured there must be a dedicated header thread out there, can someone show me where to find it? if not, i have some questions that i have not been able to research save for the poor quality of ebay headers.
these three headers all claim quality, performance and fitment, -AA -Supersprint -Bimmerbrakes -Stett yet the AA and Supersprint cost thousands, while the las two cost hundreds. why is that? should i be weary of spending less? (or, getting what i paid for?) Any feedback will help. thank you |

The AA's are the biggest rippoff, and the SS are the original that all the others copy. If you can afford it, get them, but the Bimmerbrakes and Stett headers should work just as well. |

I am awaiting delivery of my new M3 headers. They are from ebay seller "relentless_performance" In the ad,the seller says that their headers do not have any fitment issues with oem studs, fcab,or engine mounts. That's a bold statement. They look really good and I will be doing a thread about how they go. I have previously installed some 100$ ebay headers on a 330 so this isn't my first attempt at this. The M3 versions are going for 280 plus shipping and the seller has me confident that these will be quality parts.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Bimmer

Headers, yes. Equal length headers, no.

What about loss of torque? The back pressure will change, and would these equal length headers be more suited to top end gains and heat expulsion rather then low-mid range grunt

I've never seen any headers on these cars lose low end torque. You are correct, there will probably proper scavenging leading to a potential increase in low to mid rpm power. I don't expect there to be a much of a difference in peak power.
