Your 2000 323i requires the 20-pin round adapter to have access to the other modules.

Yeah, when I got my cable, I also ordered the round adapter. Looked all over my engine compartment trying to find the connector only to realize that my 2004 didn't have one. At least I can use it to talk to my S50 engine in my E30.

Still haven't recalibrated my steering angle sensor. I downloaded INPA but haven't had a chance to install it. Does anyone know if the PASoft cable will work with INPA? If it won't, I'll just have my indy shop reset the sensor for $45.

alrighty so I have loved being able to check things myself but now I have a few question.

In the light coding whats the diffrence between cold/hot check and whats "BC message"?
What is the Xenon with HVAC down on the bottom
and is there anything on pages 2/3 that we can go into? When ever I run a scan I just seem to stop it after page 1 cause alot of the stuff on 2,3 it cant seem to get into.

This is disappointing. I'm wondering about the real value of this cable. Glad I didn't buy it from PASoft. That would be way too much money to make my lights flash when I set the alarm.

I did find it funny that the car throws an error if the gas and brake are pressed at the same time. Doesn't BMW know about heel-toe shifting?

I used this and it worked very well. there were a few diffrent minor diffrent things. Although you might have to use a diffrent usb serial convert option. If your first choice doesent work and the usb port become inactive all you should need to do is conect to the internet and roll back the driver and it should like normal again.

Do I need that 20 pin cable?

I just ordered the from Scanner 1.4 from xcar360.com. Do I also need to order the 20 pin round cable for a 2003 E46 M3 Convertible? Thanks for helping out an E46 newbie/E90veteran

If you have the 20 pin diagnostic port under the hood, I would think you would need the 20 pin round cable. I'm not near my Bentley to look it up. My 2004 330XI did not need the 20 pin cable.

fcychan,

You should have considered this -

http://www.xcar360.com/bmw-dash-scanner-3-in-1.html

Or this which has INPA as part of the package -

http://www.xcar360.com/bmw-diagnostic-interface.html

INPA and the PA Soft/Dash Scanner is a pretty good overall mix of what most folks really need.

Yaay!!! Got mine today from China, installed with no problem on Vista 32 bit, I was coding stuff within minutes!! Got my OBC stalk working, coded my newer LCM and removed the tamper dot, coded double hazard flashers...I was like a 6 year old with a new toy! Couldn't delete the corners though, I think I need a newer LCM (the one I have now is from an 03).
Overall, for thirty-something bucks I think its a really good deal.
Quick question: what exactly are "side lights". Are front side lights the corners or the side blinkers? And what are rear side lights?

That's probably a good solution in you don't want too much hassle with the $36 (now $40+?) kit from the Romanian seller. It would make for an easier install.

But at $185, I'd say the few hairs I've pulled out trying to make the cheaper kit work properly were worth it.

Just got my kit and it came with fresh software on a CD and my PA Soft Scanner had a build date of 10.21.2011 and the 1+2 and 7+8 pins were soldered and jointed to allow the extra re-coding of the convenience features. Which I had lots of fun with.

I only paid $36 for my kit on March 8th, 2012 and it arrived March 19th 2012 shipped from TAIPEI, TAIWAN to BROOKLYN NY 11236.

Already Soldered at 1+2 and 7+8 to allow for fun a.k.a convenience options re-coding!

Fresh Software!

Delmarco,

You dog, I have tracked a number of orders and they all go via New York before they work they way out the rest of the US, so this is why you probably got yours a bit quicker? The rest of us may take as long as 2 weeks?

Did you update your software from the PA Soft website or is what you are showing what came on the disc?

I have not checked lately but what you show is the most recent as I recall?

US the software from the site Last time I talked to the developer he is working on software that will kill the clones when hooked up to software from his site. That would be funny IMHO!!!
