Firstly to answer you: It will work and has worked especially in cases where folks retro'd RCR tails on to a prefacelift tails and got the mid bit to lite up a brake or running lamps.

Now the fun stuff...I saw the coding on the PA Soft allows the option for the tail lamps to be modified to do various things.

If you don't see the option for the double impulse hazards.like I posted in my screenshot, then your car can't do it. Its because your LCM uses a different programming algorithm

Been looking all weekend but can't seem to find on my PA Soft:

1. How do you code the fog lamps to stay on with the high beams-on and high beams-flash?

2. How do you code the HVAC unit? for Auto-On mode. Mine is already set to auto-on but I want to know how to code it off or on.

Can't do either of those with PA Soft.

Also, do you have a link to any information regarding the piggyback wiring for rear fogs? I'd like that to be my next project.

Don't really remember the link but I know people either just do it via the RCR Depo kits which come prewired to light up the fog lamp as a brake lamp or they run one wire thru the trunk lid to the passenger side tail lamp power-on wire for the brake.

I used Google Search and picked the $36 seller.

yeah I got drama on the LCM. My pass. side reverse tail lamp bulb is out and both the front turn signal sockets are shorting because of water damage.

Also having an euro LKM faceplate from a non-xenon car on the usa LCM module-body that originally came on my xenon car and having dual fog lamps on a USA spec car generates like 4 other errors. They seem to clear and return when the LCM is used but no issues are observed.

This thread is awesome, I've had people want up to $150 to code my car. In the past, with my VW cars people would help out and do this stuff free..

Anyway, I ordered one so now I might be able to help out other members too!

Delmarco, thanks for posting this.. It's one of those sites I probably would have never ordered from.

After some trial error, I was able to get it working on 64 bit windows 7 home edition.

Just ordered led bulbs without resistors(except turns) as I could just turn off the bulb check functions now. LEDs should outlast the car so don't really need to worry about checking it.

Also found out my dealer purposely shut off the DWA alarm interior sensor and tilt sensor to falsely fix an issue I was having before related to the doors failing to unlock sometimes when parked at a grade.

In addition to "recode" option, I see "reprogramming". Has anyone done anything yet with this option?

I have RCR depo tails. How are they prewired for the rear fogs, you mean they have the bulb socket already drilled through?

Can you please explain how you got it to work with windows 7 64?

I had to do somethings a bit different from this set of instructions.

You need to download the correct drivers regardless to begin with from the link.

However, within the control panels > system > device manager

I opened up the "other devices" section which reveals "BMW Scanner" with a ? next to it since it can't find a suitable driver. You'll want to right click and update this driver manually. Specify that it's a USB Controller and then manually load the driver from where you saved the updated drivers by pointing to it. IIRC, the filename you'll want to select is ipdBus.inf or something like that.

After that you should be set.

Can this let you adjust your passenger mirror while in reverse so that it doesn't tilt all the way down?

You don't need it to do that... Just move your mirror selector to drivers side and it won't move anymore. No software needed

Thanks but I want to adjust how much it tilts, not stop it from tilting completely when I put it in reverse.

Ahhh ok. Sorry I misunderstood. I don't recall 100% but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen the option in mine.

You can. I just did this yesterday. I wanted to see the curb better and have it tilt lower.

I turned off the tilt by sliding the control switch to the passenger mirror and made the mirror as low as possible then slide the control switch to the drivers mirror (which turned back on the tilt function). Put the car back into reverse and the mirror was tilted lower.

I finally got my PAsoft from X360car.com. I installed it on an old netbook with XP that I had laying around and went out to the car to program. I have a 9/04 build touring (NAV & PDC) and I too did not have the option to double flash parking lights. Maybe this came on 330is only?

Has to do with the production year. My 2001 325 has the option.
