wtf
The same happened to me. To resolve i disconnect the scanner from the obd port and reconnect it. Sometimes you have to do this multiple times and you may also have to disconnect and reconnect the usb cable from computer. Seems like its a physical connection issue with the pins.

One you get it working however, when i run the vehicle identification scan i get a FA read error and the scan stops. So far no fix for me. I can run a manual scan of all systems and reprogram features, but for whatever reason the vehicle ident feature fails for me.

I checked us/eu box and now all my lights are permanently on while the car is running, even the dash lights. US running lights will enable the high beams at 50% while the car is running... Not sure what the EU Drl does...

Hello! I am new to the forum, I just bought a BMW Scanner from ebay, plugged in my BMW 316i e46 (05/1999) and the main reason I bought it is to enable cornering lights (sidemarker_us aktiv - in NCS Expert), but I only have 2 options DLR EU and DLR US, none of them do nothing. Any ideas?

noob here with a few Q's..

1: is Xcar still the best place to purchase this?
2: my airbag light can fix (?) by this tool right?
3: i have the square key remote (car is 99), can i program it to open all doors (not just driver) with a single click? pretty annoying for me to press 2X to open all doors..

TIA..

I own a 2004 BMW 330Ci (E46)... I am looking into getting this... Will this work in my BMW? Will I need to do any modifications? Or will I need to know anything special?

I have LCM coding index 28 (e46 316i 1998), is it possible to activate USA Style Cornering using PASoft? And if it is, what do I need to activate?

This is not the tool you are looking for. This tool is much more sophisticated and will probably result in you "bricking" your DME or some other controller, which will cost $$$$ to replace.

PA Soft is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Scanner-...item1e76ad8c62

Shop around. I got mine for less than $40, including shipping. PA Soft allows you to change some settings, and you probably won't get into trouble using it. I use it mainly to check and clear SEL codes.

Yeah, it's a pain to get it working. I had to restart my computer, go into the setup, and disable the driver signature recognition function. Once I did that, it loaded the drivers and everything works fine.

7 and 8 are soldered and so are 4 and 5. I have nothing connected to 1 and 2.

Build date is 2011-10-21

8+7 soldered 6 individually connected and 5+4 soldered

Blurry but right to left this shows 16 15 and 14 with individual connections

Can you step-by-step this out? Not sure what you mean by "go into the setup and disable the driver signature recognition function." Which setup, and where did you disable the driver recognition? Thanks...I have one arriving in a bit and I want to be prepared.
