Thanks for the info! Sounds like I am better off with the 1.4 and maybe upgrade to the INPA once I have more experience.

anyone?

The disks sent to me were damaged.

Also I was thinking if we could make this a sticky and maybe update the first post with all the important and basic information about this software and it's uses.

Post a screenshot of your options checkbox.

May require a prerequisite to activate.

Hi guys,
on my e46 I activated the DRL through the scanner 1.4 and using other software (NavCoder) I turn on the headlights soft while driving without headlights.
I've done this on several e46, but now I have problems with a e46 2001, the DRL active U.S. scanner, but the lights do not come on ....
you think it is a problem of different LCM (not arranged) on the two cars?

this is the result on my e46

This is the screen when I log on to my LCM and those prepared for DRL

instead this screen when I log on to the LCM e46 2001

sorry for my english

^ Two different version of the program.

Check both EU and US Daytime running lights options and see if it works.
A European-spec LCM will sometimes not have the DRL option altogether.

My 2001 cannot have the DRLs activated because I switched to European LCM version.

thanks, I'll try!

Updating the firmware of LCM or replacing it with a newer one could solve?

You have to change to US version of LCM most likely.

Try checking both DRL boxes using PA Soft first though.

Can someone explain this gearbox difference on my car? IKE (correctly) reads manual while the EWS reads automatic. Can I change EWS to match without issue?

I don't recommend getting rid of the feature for obvious safety reasons.
Nevermind. Trolling through this massive thread and found my reason why EWS says automatic.

Ordered mine from xcar360 today with the 20-pin cable for my '98. Looking forward to it and am going to "read until I puke!" Is there a good place start to start reading?

Unfortunately most of the thread is about not being able to get the software working, not realizing the ODC module receives power from the vehicle and not the USB cable, and not being able to find their options because they're idiots. I've been through 45 pages so far and really the only posts I pay attention to are ones with screenshots as I skim.

Ok, I'll take my time and learn up on it, no panic (yet) as car is working thankfully.

You looking to do something specific? I've just learned up a whole bunch and can help out. I just recoded a bunch of stuff on my car.

99% health of the car at least at first, (codes etc) then possibly use it to code options such as windows going up when I press lock (sometimes works, sometimes not)

Ok cool. The health bit is easy. Plug it in, let it scan fully. It'll take a minute or two to go through your car's systems. Simply, if the scan comes back green, great. No errors. If it's yellow, it's an error that was there but isn't presently. Some errors will stick like that forever, may take time to clear, or you can clear it manually with the software and they'll be gone. Don't be surprised if some stick after clearing it. I think it's just how BMW's done the software so that some of the more important codes never fully clear and you have a history of the car.

Red. The bad stuff. These are things you should look at pretty closely. I'd had a sensor or two reporting low voltage. I also had scanned when my car ignition was turned to 'on' but without the engine running. After scanning again with the engine running I got some better results. So I've now taken to scanning/coding with the car on. (Also because the battery with drain if the engine's not on, limiting your coding session.) Having scanned with the engine turned over, it looks like I've got a sensor or two that need addressing.

On to the fun stuff. This is where you should wing through the thread and just look for screenshots. Those posts will help you figure out how to program the windows up/down from the remote, flashing the corners when you lock, changing your locks from selective to one push, euro double-blink hazards etc. Keep in mind that a lot of these options can look different than the screenshots due to differences in software.

Also, I notice your 98 E46 in your info. You're going to likely have fewer programming options for lighting than newer E46s.

Good luck!
