For someone who can't search, you seem to know a lot about recycling.

Sit down.

$25 shipped on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Scanner-...30943097594%26

Could someone please confirm if this is the non-20 pin model?

Also, why the need to solder the pins?

If that's your facelifted coupe in your sig, that's the scanner you want.

There is only one model. A 20 pin adapter is something you purchase separately.

You should be set just to hook up your 20 pin under the hood, and have at it. I don't think you'll need to solder anything at this point, from what I remember, the newer stuff was all set to go right out of the package.

NO.
The pa-soft program won't work without the pa-soft dongle. The pa-soft cable, dongle, and software with shipping all combined can be bought cheaper than that cable.

It works on the machine yes, running Windows 7 or XP in boot camp.

I haven't tried using under in virtual machine, such as Parallels or Fusion...

Hey guys need some help with 64bit windows 7 XP mode install.

I was able to get it all running and I FINALLY got the green light for the drivers (after 3 hours of trying to install XP Mode and make it run on a lower version then Premium), but XP mode DOES NOT detect the 1.4 dongle when its plugged into the car and then into the laptop, it does not show up in the device manager in XP Mode.
HOWEVER, windows 7 sees the device and it has a yellow "!".. I already tried to update the driver in windows 7 but it never lets me actually update the file since it doesnt recongize the drivers. Any ideas?

I plan to uninstall everything on XP mode and reinstall it.

I believe there are special Win7 Drivers on the disc (must ensure Win7 is not on the net at the time)
