When plugged in I am able to view live data but I can't click on "Car Ident" or get into coding any features. This is so frustrating after waiting over a month to get it and now it isn't working. Please help!!

I soldered pins 1 & 2 but nothing changed, having failed that I've ordered a 20-pin round adapter. Hopefully that'll solve the problem, thanks for the help guys!

I've already ordered the adapter but it wasn't very expensive so it's not much of a bother. I tried jumping 20-2-17 and I can now view my car identity without any errors but I still am unable to click on "coding data" any ideas?

After trying to reconnect about 10 more times I've been able to get into coding data! Finally something worked!

Does anyone have instructions on how to install the BMW 1.4.0 Scanner software onto a computer running Windows 7 Home Premium?

Just install but make sure that you turn OFF your wifi during installation!

I got the software installed fine and hooked up the computer to the car this evening.

I get a connection error ews and ike. In addition a lot of the modules cannot be found. It does however read my vin and mileage.

I have an 03 E46. Car is hooked up to battery charger. Pins 7&8 are not soldered. Is that my problem?

Doesn't sound like you should need to. Check all cable connections, and try again. Reboot if necessary.

Tried a fresh install of scanner software, rebooted system and all cable are connected fine.

Still get a connection error for ike and ews.

As stated previously, it can read my dme and a couple others. But mostly it's 'not found'.

On my 03 325i #7&8 pins had to be soldered to access those modules

I'm having the same issue that zx5rider, trialNerror, and some others earlier in this thread have mentioned but haven't come across any solutions in my searches. I don't have the OEM alarm on my 2003 325xi, but my clown nose flashes more rapidly when I activate the alarm by holding the trunk lid release button on the key fob so the DWA seems to be going off... just not with the headlights and warning lights, too. Is there another setting or prerequisite elsewhere that I need to activate?

Thanks in advance!

Likely far more complex to translate the PA Soft/BMW Scanner codes to generic OBDII codes.

Not many, it any of the these codes translate to standard OBD codes based on the descriptions PA Soft/BMW Scanner displays.
When I get home, I can get the error table from BMW's software. I have the table for the MSS54 already, but some of the MS43 codes are different
