Not too good shadow's broke the tabs off shortly after the 15000 mile mark. The good thing is both tabs stayed in the pump they can not physical get out.
We are changing to stronger 4340 steel increasing tab size and increasing the radius at the bottom of the tab.

Damn, what the hell could possibly be shocking the VANOS tabs so much. No wonder BMW did away with the high pressure VANOS system.

Interesting stuff! I like the fact that this is looking to be a realistic option with turbotoy's continuing development.

Gotcha. And that causes the tabs to hit against the holes in the vanos pump. I wonder if using a Stronger spring washer inside the vanos hub would help keep the tabs from hitting the orifices too hard.

Here is an update. We are changing the material to 300 maraging steel. We are also making the tab size larger to take some of the slop and adding a radius at the bottom of the tab. These new tab rings will be cut on CNC machines.

Yes, the hub has been performing very well. One has 30,000+ miles on it. 33 of the 300c hubs are on the road.

Vanos hub fixed

Awesome. I would like to know if you are using the stock sized oil pump disk of a modified one with smaller holes. In the event that my pump disk is damaged and holes are unusable what options would I have using your hub? I'm in the process of gathering the cam bolts, rattle kit and seals to bulletproof my vanos system. This whole exhaust hub is my nemesis at the moment.

I designed my hub to be a direct replacement to the oem. The 300c hub has larger tabs to take up the slop in the pump disk holes. We can drill two more holes in your pump if your holes are scared up. You can also have a local machine shop drill the holes. The stock holes are .422 of an inch.

Ok. I'm tearing it down in about 2 weeks. Pm me a price and info about ordering so I have a heads up. Thanks for investing the time in the solution.
