"A gun rack? A gun rack. I don't even own a gun , let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack."

Maybe I should elaborate. When I'm transporting my guns, I don't like just laying them down in my car. I had a rack in my truck that I would always carry them on. I can't think of anywhere to put one in my car. Maybe the back deck.

Then why are you even in this forum or commenting in this thread?

OP: I'm building one for my truck to hold the Rem 870. It's custom so it's not easily seen (theft), but it will drop down and swing out for quick access.

Designing the springs and hinges now, but I'll get some pics up

How do you like the Remington 887? I bought one (still in waiting period) and I have read some bad reviews on it, since. It's my first gun, so I have no previous history to compare. Thanks.

I don't think the headliner will support much weight and it could cause problems over time.
I think something in the trunk will be your best bet, but won't grant you easy access if that's what you're looking for.

Edit: are you allowed to transport long barrel guns that are loaded/unlocked?

Seems like the "skools" in Europe are pretty useless...

How about you look up some real statistics on violent crime and get back to us.

Also, maybe you're forgetting a certain incident that happened in your country involving a crazy person, a weapon or two, and a school not too long ago? Tool..

Theres no room inside for a rifle or a shotgun. Tried about everything.

This worked well for me.

I have a lockbox up under my rear deck in the trunk... Does that count?

or how about that the US has the highest gun ownership rate with one of the lowest violent crime rates in comparison to the low gun ownership rates of some european countries with some of the highest violent crime rates. europeans might not have the most gun related deaths but they sure as hell arent completely absent of violent crime. take england for example. they have some of the strictest gun control, but they are the most violent country in the EU.

I remember mass killings that occurred in Europe... Although guns wouldnt do it fast enough so they switched to gas chambers.
