ECS Tuning **bad experience**

I ordered multiple parts from ECS last Friday and I was told that on of the parts was not in their warehouse. This added 2-3 days and I was hoping they could send the other parts first and direct ship the other part. They did so by splitting the orders up. In doing so they charged me ANOTHER shipping fee. Might I add I live about 5 hours from their warehouse. I stated that they added it and I wasn't going to pay the shipping again. Instead of dropping the shipping costs they canceled the order.

Has anyone had a bad experience with them or was this a rare instance? I am asking because it was my first time buying?

If they have to ship twice. Then they will have to pay the shipping company twice.
They did a great job not doing business with someone like you.

I've bought from them on a couple of occasions and never had a problem. Maybe call them and try to work something out or cancel the delayed part and buy it elsewhere.

I know how much shipping costs are and I would have been repeat buyer. They never communicated the extra costs up front until after the fact. If I would have known that I would have kept my order the same.

I find them to be hit or miss. I've ordered twice. one good experience and the other very bad. I think they've gotten too big for their own good kinda like DDM tuning. But at least DDM tuning has low prices. haha

I've always had good experiences with ECS. Their customer service was helpful and the orders were correct. If they have to ship two orders they have to pay for shipping twice.

I was just wondering since their communication on costs were blatantly lacking. And no compromising after the fact.

In my experience, any time YOU request to split an order it becomes two seperate orders with any company, I would be surprised if it didnt. With respect to ECS, I have had no negatives yet, had 4 orders so far.

I have had experience with other companies that will send an order out if they are waiting on other parts. I was just wishing they would have told me up front.

UPDATE - They contacted me back and we are settling on going with half the price of shipping.

I was surprised to hear back from them. I plan on purchasing more in the future.

Only problem I have with them is fixed shipping prices even on a washer. A washer can be 50 cents or so but shipping is still $10. Makes no sense.

:rolleyes:Yes really, it's simple enough to run a part number through google and shop around for a best quote, trust me I'm a bargain shopper and I've shopped with all kinds of companies like rockauto, eEuroparts, rmeauropean, fcpgroton and everything in between, and there are some good deals out there yes even better then ecs, but for the most part ecs is my go to part-place for my BMW's.

I've ordered from them twice and just placed a third order. I was disappointed to see their level 2 oil separator kit is more expensive than the sum of its parts (?!) but still find their prices to be very competitive if you want to get multiple parts at the same time (plus, they ship pretty fast to VA). They did inadvertently send me an expensive VW part on my first order and didn't show much gratitude besides return shipping when I informed them.

Overall, I think they're a good company with a very user-friendly site (esp. compared to the majority of part sights out there), but definitely shop around and don't assume their kits are the best deal.
