Where to sell iPhone?

Have the iPhone 5 and it looks like I can almost recoup the entire cost of the 6 by selling my phone. Gazelle seems to give a good price. It says I can get more by taking it to AT&T and having it unlocked. Anyone have experience in selling phones and how to get the most money? My phone is in near perfect condition.

Gazelle gives sh!tty prices because they're the middle man. You pay for the convenience of not having to sell it yourself.

Yeah, I'm thinking eBay might be the best even if having to pay the commission. Does unlocking just make it easier for the buyer to use the phone? Does it cost money to have it done? And does that erase my data from the phone? Do I keep my SIM card when I sell it?

In the past couple years, I've sold about 5 brand new iPhones on Craigslist. Cash and carry > eBay fees, PayPal fees and shipping.

^^ Yuuupppppppppppp. Ebay fees, paypal fees and proper shipping seems to suck out a decent amount of juice from the sale. I don't bother. Craigslist with proper pictures and it's normally sold. Cash only in a very public meeting place with lots of cameras.

Try craigslist and if that doesn't work than go with eBay.

Bold part is key. The same guy wanted to buy all three sealed box iPhone's I had for sale in one shot. We met at a courthouse in the area next to the local police station.

Just call up your carrier, be nice and ask them to unlock your phone because you're traveling and need to use it overseas. Most of the time they'll be happy to do it for free.

I went to Gazelle because it was quick and easy. I don't have time to get murdered on Craigslist.

I unlocked mine through AT&T website. Approved in less than 10 minutes.

Did you guys unlock the phones first before selling them?

All the phones I sold were in sealed packages. Figured that was more valuable than going through the process of unlocking it.

Craigslist is a waste of time. Swappa or eBay. Swappa is fast, price will be a bit lower.
