There is a massive stupidity here...the pastor believing god told him to buy a 65 million dollar plane as well all of the people who were gullible enough to donate to this expenditure.

Haters gonna hate. He clearly said he wanted a jet, and people donated for him to get one. Dont see where the scam is...stupidity, sure, but scam?

The scam part comes from his doing this in the name of a fictitious character. However, since I know the real Jesus, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt he wants me to have my own island (we've talked about it for many years), please Paypal your love offerings to Boogetyland, so I can make it true. And I promise you, in the name of Jesus, whom I thank every Saturday, when I move to my own island, he can still do my yard and landscaping jobs...

Be that as it may, are you claiming that no good is done "in the name of god?" No charities, nothing?

I think I'll start a church so I can feed a few hungry people. I'll need a Gulfstream to deliver the gruel.

Pretty much. I know what you're saying, and I appreciate the work many religious organizations do with the poor and damaged, all to increase the glory of their lord (and why are most religions following a feudal doctrine? But that's a whole 'nother conversation). Giving should be from the heart, not to please some invisible, imaginary deity...

It's a testament to how much humans are willing to break logic and reason to justify things that they refuse to give up out of fear.

There's an entire country based off of a story. Imagine if there was a Harry Potter country with an elected grand wizard. That is the Vatican.
