Never ceases to amaze me, why anybody would want to go more than Plus 1 on their car!!! Going Plus 2 or more actually slows your car down (of course, then everyone can take in the "cool" look easier) and leads to more flat tires, bent wheels and early suspension damage/replacement.

A whole lotta fender work that costs more money than the wheels themselves, I can barely fit 18x10 on my 323i

19 is the largest w/o looking odd. Even with 19s, you need to be fairly lowered to work

18" max. 19" and larger look retarded.

Looks like I got flamed already, to explain the m3 staggered wheels came with my car when I bought it. I have 18x8.5 vmr vb3 at home while waiting for tires

Anyways, why anyone would wanna make an e46 look like a donk is beyond me. I agree with most here, 18's the limit. 19's a stretch.

Big rims are for big cars, usually american big cars, and anything riding on blades looks stuipid, especially SUV's.

Well, that explains that then. But it goes without saying that our 2.5L engines don't make nearly enough power to warrant such wide wheels.

On the upside, your car should be a bit quicker after you swap wheels
