They do require a little prep and skill but they are relatively easy to use. Some of the paints are not "pen style" some are "brush style". The pen style touch up paint is applied as seen in many late night infomercials just trace the scratch (once the area is cleaned very very well). doesn't seem to difficult.. Do you know if the Carbon black is a pen or brush?

A good trick it to go to any arts and crafts store, and buy the finest, smallest brushes they have and use those. The brush BMW supplies it way to thick. The brush literally costs $1, and its way better for chips, small scratches, and is better for detail.
