Looked like a clean break, which is good news for him. Hopefully it is, and he recovers quickly.

thats the worst basketball injury ive ever seen....I can't believe that it just snapped in half, how does that happen? ive seen 1000s of plays with a defener running out and trying to block a shot, never has their leg snapped in half

I hope he has a rare bone condition and we're not all susceptible to an injury as frightening as that.

Just coincidence. Having the exact angles of impact combined with certain muscles being relaxed at the wrong time. A split second of a bad situation.

+1 on hoping he will be able to play again, but it's doubtful

He'll play again. I'd put money on it. If it was just a bone break, it will grow back stronger than before. Once healed, the mental overcome may be the toughest.

I'm in med school, and have watched many orthopedic surgeries. It was a bone break of the tibia and fibula (shin bones). If you look closely you can actually see the top of the tibia and fibula sticking out below the knee. The announcer was just talking out his rectum.

broke in 2 spots, i'd be willing to bet this uncovers something in him

a 20 yr old's shin bones shouldn't snap like that, he isn't that heavy

Shaun Livingston's was far worse. This is a bone injury, and while that is pretty bad, he should recover well. Shredding most ligaments holding a joint together has much worse implications.
