SMG issues

Soooooo, my E46 M3 decided to throw a tranny light lastnight, she's not downshifting right, and won't shift into first gear. There is also a nice clunk shifting down into 2nd. In automatic mode it's all over the place, 1st to 3rd to 5th and back to 3rd shifts. Does anyone have an idea what's going on have had this happen to them? She's well out of warranty, so any help would be good, thanks

Well, for starters see what codes come up. then go from there. Could be a variety of things, salmon relay is the most common problem. also could be a spring that is not connecting accordingly.
