Well I bought mine the 12 of Dec and it didn't get here till Jan 6 and I thought for a while that I wasnt going to receive it but eventually emailed the seller and let him know what was going on so maybe you should do the same. By the way the BMW standard tools is prob out of date so your going to have to down load the newer version just google BMW standard tools 2.5 as ac_2007 has been recommending, and its the torrent file.

So do I "enable" UIF writings or follow what it says in the quote to "disable" UIF writings?

That's up to you.

If you enable them, the ECU will say you have the software version you will flash.
If you disable them, the ECU will say you have your original software version.

You only have a limited number of UIF writes, so use them wisely.
I disabled mine.

Im sill confused on which program number I should use...

I have 04/2001 325i (wagon) with headers/deleted SAP and a 5-speed transmission.

Any one got a suggestion on which one to use?

I'm leaning toward 12 14 7 564 764 or 12 14 7 564 454.

If there is something else I should use please let me know.

Ok sounds good so i was reading a little more about winkfp and i found this link,http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1572349, do i need to do this before the flash as well? Also the OP is post #48 says to clear adaptations for gearbox, where is that option in INPA or is it needed?

Im having trouble getting DIS to read control modules in the car. The seller set everything up for me and it looks like the head is reading using DiagHead but once i select e46 (in DIS) it will not auto connect and if I manually select my car and try to run a read on the DME it gives me an error 200.13. Ive double checked the USB com settings and everything seems correct. I have also checked with a OBD II scanner and it connects no problem. I noticed that there is an LED on the USB cable but it doesn't blink...

Any help would be great.

I've been trying to get my K+DCAN cable to with with Progman, INPA, and NCS, but it won't recognize it. Found out I had to bridge pins 7+8, but the car still won't recognize the cable. Any suggestions?

guys - i cannot get DIS to work when the cable is connected to my car, i can get inpa to work fine so my cable and port settings are fine.

i have spent ages searching the internet and you tube but i have not found the answer.

I start diaghead and then vmplayer, diaghead connects automatically. I run the registry fix on my cd too. I dont know what else to do.

i get this error below

Yeah I got it on the 8th just didn't realize it until today LOL..and I updated the bmw standard tools and it messed everything up..I couldn't connect to the car anymore kept saying there was no connection to the diagnostic head..checked all the settings and they were the same..so I'm going to reinstall everything and try again..but I did have one error when I initially tried to code the car..I got the "it is necessary to use edic/icom for the connected vehicle for programming/coding control units. For this purpose, you must close the progman session and select one of the requested interfaces "..
I followed sellers instructions on clicking vm/snapshot/press here to start sss 3 times faster-configured icom..but still didn't work..

And this is the only thing that was different from the settings in the video but not sure if its the problem and if so how to change it?

Sorry for not reading through this whole thread, but is there any set backs to flashing the eu2 catless tune before installing the headers? I just got the cable along with my headers not too long ago, but will not have the money to install the headers for a little while. In the mean time was hoping to run this eu2 tune.

Can someone confirm that if you have a car from march 2003 or newer then the EU tunes are not possible? Asides from an aftermarket tune

Why do you need a battery charger hooked up while flashing? I only have a 1amp charger.

Because if your battery dies during the flash you could be in trouble.
