That's OK, I'll pull my bike to the track with my E30. Then you can get your E46 against my E30. That's the only way it would be fair, because my bike has a definite unfair advantage.

For those of you planning to come and watch, I'll get info on what the place charges for that...but also, I want to say this...

Drag racing our cars is in most cases really stupid, you know. You'll find many posts from me saying this!

You can come out and try to beat the guy next to you...dump your clutch, spin your tires. I'm not doing that. I'm just going to drive as fast as I can without doing anything stupid to my car...just like leaving a Turnpike toll booth.

You can get on the track and just have fun and not feel pushed into 'having' to beat the guy next to you. I've already lost my race and it hasn't even started yet!

Anyway, I felt I needed to say this. Already I can see some see this as a competition and are in because their car is made for speed. Mine is made for the speed it has, and so is yours. The BMW is not a dragster, and you shouldn't do anything with your car you haven't done a lot of before. I'd feel horrible if one of you damaged your car, but not as horrible as you'd feel.

And, even if you agree and aren't planning on risking your car, you will want to begin getting things ready...just saying!

So, some Sunday in the Spring. And remember, add your name if you'll want to 'race' so I can negotiate a bit more aggressively. You're not committing, just expressing interest. I'll assume just half on the list will actually attend!

Anyway, add your name if you're interested...

That's great! I've never drag raced before, so I want the memory to last. The longer the event is, the more likely I'll remember it!

But, if I can go 0-60 in say 6.5-7 seconds, I'd think the quarter mile would be under 17. I'll be at 69 at the end of second gear. 17 honestly sounds like that's more than I'll probably do...but I'll take your word for it...sort of!

Considering the fact that we mostly all have the same rides, there should be no competition. Maybe one is 10hp less, 10hp more. I understand if we race a Honda, then maybe we would be embarrassed to lose.

Im excited for this.

+1 personally, I never raced a full legal quarter mile with an audience, so this should be good fun and a chance to meet some fanatics, and see the people I waste my life away chatting with on the net with
Plus, it will be cool to see what are cars actually run instead of guessing. The whole thing started over if mods improve our speed much or not, and if the stick will beat the auto... we'll see

Actually my pretty wheels will add .2 seconds cause theyre 18s.
Dmax likes to call them pretty, thats cool.

Also, he has no chance against the diy custom air scoop, which is what got him into this in the first place word is has it he fears the pretty wheels and scoop more than the headers, and CAI.

But I'm not forgetting the auto, either!

So...NEWS:

Islanddragway.com Just had a nice talk with them.

The person I spoke with 'thought' it was $35 for 3 runs, but what he said we could do, if we have enough interest, is just give us two separate lanes during the 'test and tune' days (schedule isn't posted yet)...we could have two tracks to ourselves, race whomever however...Motorcycle against Honda Fit; messed up air rammed 330 against an almost perfect stock car!

Spectator fee is $15

I'll find a date, trying to not interfere with the Winter Mod cruise or Bimmerfest, whenever that is. Please don't start suggesting dates...it will be a Sunday...gates open at 11...racing from 12-5.

Oh, forgot to mention...he says that for the $35 (or whatever the fee is) that after we each get three runs, if we still want to go, we can, as long as cars aren't waiting...if we get enough...I'm sure having a couple of tracks all afternoon would be fine. I'm personally not planning on dragging too many times, but sounds like you could if you wanted to...legally.

Lower entrance fees for kids. Only one in the racing car. Parental Consent waiver signed for kids under 18. They follow NHRA regulations...so a motorcycle over 120 mph needs special tires...etc. If you're faster than a particular time, you need your own helmet, otherwise you can rent them there for $5.

Copy the list and add yourself...again, if interested. You're not committing...yet! More we get, better I can negotiate!

This sounds like a lot of fun and totally different from other meets. I was kidding about racing my bike against someone, but I do want to run it down the track at least two times.
