well i believe the companies received my 2din now so hopefully they can install the update fix or send me a new unit

next up i believe i've got a coolant flush due

anyone know when VCG's need replacing? did them early in the yr i believe but did not know to replace VANOS.
i think VANOS need to be replaced but don't wanna replace VCG's already if not needed
i do wanna go with the Beisan kit

received my replacement 2din..
tried installing it but couldn't figure out how the installer ran the wires to get it to fit snug
it's temporarily installed so i at least have music
noticed however i forgot to plug the cigarette lighter power back in and have issues with the music playing to all speakers (2din setting somewhere)
will have installer properly re-install for me this week

deck is back in and installed properly

gotta do coolant flush real soon here then debating doing oem speaker replacement and an 8" sub or else m-tech II front.. just thinking speaker replacement will be cheaper then m-tech II front because i'll need all the additional brackets and stuff, then match up the paint to the car.. seems pricey

Cars booked for Friday morning
Quoted 5hrs @ $98/hr for vcgs and vanos seals
Seems right

.. this fell through as the frigging mechanic cancelled me while i was more then half done my 2 hr drive to him, said he didn't have enough time to do the job.
i even booked 2 weeks in advance
will be bringing back to my local guy instead

got the stock speakers replaced with Polk Audio's all around including tweeters
i can actually turn up my volume past 20 and have excellent sound
speakers were professionally installed so i don't have pic's of them as they are already in and covered
my driver speaker cover is broken, anyone know if you can buy just the cover? i think it's part of the door
i also have the Polk Audio's running off a separate amp instead of the 2din
amp is a JVC, not sure of watts or any of that stuff.
just told him what i wanted to do and told him to pick the best of the best for $1k installed.
this guy is a local car buddy and has done all my audio work

will take a pic of the amp tomorrow

Amp is currently installed in the trunk to the back of the seat until i can get a custom sub box made to mount it too

JVC Amp that all my aftermarket speakers are hooked too, mounted on left side of the trunk
sub wire is pre ran already too and tucked behind the trunk lining on far left
hoping to have this all mounted to a sub box in February

*EDIT*
found out speakers are Polk Audio MM6501 6.5" components
if shelf speakers aren't too difficult to expose i may snap a pic of them and post up

after the speaker install i forgot to mention my taillights kept showing a bulb out and they are EE LED tails
i called the installer to see if he had to tap into any wires and he said no, only thing he did in the trunk was take the panels off to run wires
so i took the panels off (wasn't needed )
ended up being the ground wire was loose in the harness
the EE wires are so thing/crappy and the contacts in the harness they plug into are so short so they come loose easy
i ended up taking the 2 black grounds and one brown cable on the other side and joined them together outside the harness
everything is good but we've got a ton of snow so i haven't been able to drive
hopefully no other wires are loose in the harness
if so i'm going to delete the harness and re-attach all wires without it
