Ruger LC9 For My Bug-Out Bag ?
So I'm going to a gun show this weekend in Dulles Va, one of my stops will be to take a good look at the Ruger LC9. I want to put together a simple Bug-Out Bag, & having a small portable handgun in it is high on the list. Reviews seem to be mostly favorable, what are your thoughts; what else should I take a good look at ?

Glock 26 with 12 round mag.
Glock 81 field knife. For $30 it is an unbeatable value. JMO. ![]()

What does the Ruger cost? IMHO, if I were putting together a BO Bag, and was going to place a firearm in there, I would want a firearm I would be happy to use with no drawbacks.
I would even go so far as to put the G19 in there. Larger size, more ammo, better grip, still concealable... It is a win win for everything, except it is slightly larger. Realize it'll be the same thickness as the baby glock (as near as make no difference), will be slightly longer, but more tall. I would want a gun I was comfortable with in any situation, not just a gun to have a gun.

Only gun I want is the Ruger SR9C. Great reviews, great trigger, very reliable. Takes full sr9 magazines, versatile.
LC9 is too small, it's more like a pocket gun, limited rounds. Single stack 7 + 1?

In a BOB larger is better imho, If your actually going to "bug out" that little pea shooter's not going to get you far. A full sized double stack is the best route. I've got a glock 19 zip tied in a holster on top of the pannel that covers the under side of the dash, all thats visible if you look under there are a couple zip ties coming in and out of the plastic pannel.

The ability to conceal does not strike me as the top priority for a bug out situation. I would want something with proven reliability in the worst of circumstances and a high capacity (read G19, SA XD9, Sig). 9mm seems like a great choice as it is so prevalently used and probably easier to find than some other choices.

Have you shot the SR9C? I shot one at the range and found it to be a little on the small side for a compact. I could not grip it comfortably. I went with the G19 4th gen. I would make sure you shoot it before deciding.

Thanks for the responses, I'm rethinking my position. Off to the Gun Show this weekend, maybe I'll find something that really fits the bill.
Gun people, pay NO attention to the intake picture.
