these days? nothing. that used to be true decades ago but these days where the cuban seed is grown around the world and other countries , like nicaragua , perfecting the process the cuban cigar myth is slowly dying out. i'm not saying there aren't amazing cuban cigars out there but saying a cigar is good simply because it's cuban makes you look like an idiot.

Are they really worth it? I'm kind of on the fence of spending 20+ dollars on a stick

Smoked a carrillo last night, decent cigar. Has a good medium bodied flavor with a slight nutty taste to it.

Davidoffs are good, their prices range based on cigar type and blend, but hop on CI and pick some up cheap.

most recent I had a Perdoma Reserve 10th Anniversary, such an awesome smoke for the money. I enjoyed every inch of it.

picked up a few sticks tonight. tried the (relatively) new CAO OSA sol. it kinda sucked. really one dimensional woody sun grown connecticut wrapper. wouldn't recommend it if you're into complex (or flavorful) smokes. the finish was nice though.
anyone else tried any new sticks?

This is what i normally smoke, Medium bodied Nicaraguan, hand rolled locally and sold through the local cigar shop. Pretty damn good cigar for the price which is why ill smoke them regularly, Im also always trying new cigars in any price range but tend to save the really expensive ones for special occasion.

This sucks

http://www.cigaraficionado.com/webfe.../show/id/16469

Quote:
What was supposed to be a one-ton pallet full of eggs in Rome's Leonardo Da Vinci airport ended up being over a million Euro worth of undeclared Cuban cigars.

On April 4, Italian customs, along with the Finance Guard of Rome's Provincial Command, became suspicious after seeing a shipment of boxes each marked "30 Docenas de Huevos"-30 dozen eggs. After opening each package, officials discovered the parcels actually contained 63 boxes of Cuban cigars, ranging from Montecristo No. 2s to Cohiba Behikes, none of them declared.

Cigars that are exported from Cuba to Italy are typically declared at customs and sent straight to Italy's regional distributor Diadema SpA, a partner of Habanos S.A., the Cuban company that controls Cuba's cigar industry. The cigars are then taxed and sold to tobacconists throughout Italy, including the country's two La Casa del Habano franchises, one in Rome and one in Milan.

In a statement, Habanos described the seized cigars as counterfeit, but Cigar Insider contacted Gonzalo Fernández de Navarrete González Valerio, subdirector of marketing operations for Habanos, for further clarification.

Ughh would of loved to have picked up some of those Behikes,

Yesterday I had a delicious Rocky Patel Winter Collection 2012. It was sitting in my humidor for a few months I wanted to leave it in longer, but just had an urge to smoke it.

And glad I did. What a great blend,

Smoking a Romeo Y Julieta 1875 #1 Cigar,
The flavor profile was complex and interesting while the spice factor ramped up nicely right through to the nub to end with a sweet little sting right at the end. I got nice sensations of light wood, leather, creme, and vanilla with a hint of earth. When I say "light" and "hint" I don't mean weak or anemic. Make no mistake, this cigar is well within the medium bodied range and VERY rich.
