A buddy hooked me up with a 5 pack of assorted Cuban sticks. I just got done with a Por Larranga. Paired it with a glass of Laphroaig (for the Scotch fans)... Great stuff.

go with the makers. the sweetness of the maker s will be nice. I need to get some more Bookers bourbon that would go really well with that smoke.

havent posted in awhile so start off with a quick review.

The Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill - I'm sure we have all heard something by now about the Prensado and I wanted to know if it was worth all of the hype or even the title it earned. Upon first inspection it has a beautiful dark reddish brown Honduras wrapper that has wonderful smell. Not to mention the great box pressed construction and gorgeous gold ring gauge, I got very exited to light this cigar up. And shortly after cutting and lighting I started running into some issues, like many people I had complaints about the tight draw and un-even burn. The flavor off the bat was fairly nutty and creamy, but soon after disappeared and was left with a VERY dry tight smoke. It wasn't bad or hard to smoke, but found myself struggling to pull smooth draws and on more then one occasion had to touch up and relight/cut it. After feeling a bit let down I decided to continue smoking and see if it got any better. About two thirds of the way through it did even out and the draws were much more consistent, the flavor was much more bold yet still very dry. I found that between 2/3s and 1/3 was my favorite part of this cigar, I would consider it a great smoke, but not "fantastic" how this ever got named "cigar of the year" is beyond me. Maybe all of the high expectations led to my conclusion however for $10 a stick it was still a good buy and I will probably pick up another, (but I'm in no rush)

Overall I'd give the Prensado Churchill 4.0 out of 5.0

I had the same problem with my Presandos. 2 of the 5 that I bought had build issues, uneven burn and it would quickly die out.

I would really recommend the Padron 1964's for a great smoke at a great price. I also would recommend the Pardon 1926's in maduro which is my favorite of all.

the only good ones are
1 - Partagas Cifuentes Diciembre (5.5"x 49)
1 - La Perla Habana Classic Robutso (5.0"x 52 )

but for a dollar it is worth it.
