Nah, mini vacation. I like architecture, etc. Also, I have a second cousin there in Dental School. He's going to show me around a bit.

I spent a day and night there 3 years and a month ago to the day. I remember the exchange rate was pretty amazing. I got $50 (US) out, paid for food/drinks and an apartment for the night and stil had money to spare. Get a pork knuckle while you're there, preferrably from a restuarant where no one speaks english. There's a Coyote Ugly there that's supposed to be good on the weekends, but I was there on a tuesday or wednesday so the clubs that were open weren't much fun.

It's a beautiful city and honestly you could spend most of your time just getting lost among the old buildings. Take a tour of the castle, there's a beautiful cathedral in the castle grounds. I'm trying to remember what else I did while I was there...

edit: Some pictures
This is what the ATM gave me for $50

No idea what this building is

Thanks so much for the tips so far. I might do the castle Thursday when I arrive. Would you recommend tour guide, or self guided?

Also, does everyone speak English there?

No, definitely no tours, do things on your own time. I don't remember having a problem with people not speaking English, but don't assume that everyone does. The lady I rented the apartment from didn't speak a word of English. I had no trouble getting around, if that's what you're concered with, except getting lost at 3am pretty drunk. A lot of the streets don't take a logical path and to this day I still don't understand how their street signs work. So yeah, know the general direction you need to go and you'll be fine.

THanks for the tips, so just find like 5/6 things to do through the day, no tours?

Any advice on getting around, walking? cabs?

Also, what about the ride from the airport to the hotel.

I'm pretty sure I took a cab to the airport when I left, rode in on a train. I walked everywhere while I was there. If you have time and the weather is cooperating then there's no reason not to. You'll find plenty to do, it's a very large city. You could do a tour, but I'm not a fan of schedules and arranged walks like that but maybe you do.

If you ask a taxi driver to take you to a club you will end up at a brothel.

We were slightly surprised but OK. Next night out we asked a different taxi drive to take us to a club for dancing, no brothels... We ended up at the same place LOL

I got you, I like them cause they're somewhat informative. My 2nd cousin out there has suggested a few tours, plus I might ask my hotel concierge. Its gonna be cool, and raining only one day. Also, will have my cell phone so hopefully google maps works well there.

hahah, I have a few clubs/lounges suggested to me already, will hit those up. Friday-Sunday my cousin will be with me so we'll do what he suggests.

Another interesting place to visit is the Tankodrome, we went there on our trip.

Got to drive different tanks, and were driven around by a guy callng himself Crazy Ivan, for good reason.

Also got to shoot full automatic AK47īs and other fun activities

I think this was the place: http://www.tankodrommilovice.cz/aktivity.html

That's funny, and looks legit. I might ask my cousin if he wants to do that Saturday or Sunday. Its a bit outside of prague so I don't want to go myself.

If you go, donīt get in the tank with Crazy Ivan. Some others in our group did and they all ended up with severe back pains. That guy is no joke. He split an old minivan in half with his tank and then pretty much jumped the tank into a massive hole filled with water. Not easy to hang on in a tank with no padding lol
