Another successful jump today! This time from 96,000 feet, just shy of Kittinger's record.

Record jump was supposed to be today, pushed back to tomorrow because of weather.

Currently they're shooting for launching the balloon at 6am MDT. As near as I can tell from the website, it will take more than 2 hours, but less than 3 to get to jump altitude.

Hope all goes well for them!

The temps will be interesting. When he first jumps, the reason he'll fall so fast is that the air isn't dense enough to provide much friction.

But I'm sure as he gets lower and the air gets denser, that friction will increase and it would be neat to see the surface temp of the suit over the course of the whole fall.

I'm interested to see the temperatures as well, but terminal velocity will decrease as he falls so there's a definite upper limit to how much friction he'll generate. My guess: There won't be an appreciable rise in temperature for his suit.

Countdown on Hold Until 09:30 MDT. Wind speeds not yet optimal for launch. Earliest possible Launch 11:30 MDT.
