23, bought my M3 last year, paid cash for it, been saving every dollar I made since I was 15 for it, and I pay for everything myself.

I don't own one at the moment, but will either mid winter/early spring.
I'm 19 though. Just finished a 13 months apprentice program at Velcro USA. Currently a "weaver" making good pay. much more than any other 19 year old around here. I've been a BMW fanatic ever since I first rode in one when I was 11. My buddies mom had an E36 328i. She always drifted it in the winter. Over the years, I've become more and more attracted to the cars. Just bought an 04 325xi last November. Still making payments on it. But will be coming into a rather large settlement from a shooting accident a month ago. Plan to pay off the left over $4,800 on this car, sell it, buy a nice E46 M3 6MT.. and with whatever's left. put half in a CD (20-30k) and use the rest to get a nice apartment. |

Damn I had no idea that a site devoted to a 2 generations old BMW would have so many 18 year old m3 drivers that go to school at a top 10 university full time and make 60k a year working part time while banging 10/10 swimsuit models on the weekend.

But the ONLY reason I'll be able to afford an M is because I was shot a month ago in the leg, and I'm looking at about 100-150k from my settlement. I'm only making right now, 40k a year. On a high school diploma. Nor am I banging any models. I'm in a happy 3 year (oct 5) relationship with my girlfriend. |

28 here. I can speak from experience because I was a very spoiled teenager and my parents pretty much gave me whatever I wanted.
When I was 17 I got a E36 325i convertible (with parent's money (but used and not super-expensive)) At 20, I got a brand new S2000 lease and my parents paid the lease as long as I paid for gas and insurance At 25, I got an e90 328i sedan as a law school graduation present and once I got a job I took over the entire payment. At 27, I got a 128i because I needed a beat up car to drive long distances for work. I just recently got a nice raise and bought an E46 M3 vert with super low mileage all cash and it feels great to own something you truly earned. Having said that, I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing if your parents help you out as long as you're able to learn responsibility and don't become dependent. I learned a lot throughout each stage of my driving life with responsibility and building credit and maintaining a piece of property. Bottom line- I'm not ashamed to admit that my parents helped me out inthe beginning b/c driving a 325i and an S2000 at those ages made my life very enjoyable. I wish luck to anyone who realizes the beauty and has passion for BMW no matter how you come to acquire one (as long as one day you can really drop your own cash down and take complete responsibility for your baby)

31, this is my first M, but it is my 8th bmw. Owned a couple 335's, and a couple coupe and sedan E46's. And a few of the older body style back in the days. Something always brings me back to BM's. I was VERY close to buying an M6 before i got he M, but decided to leave my money in my investments. No car payments FTW!

Wow, I haven't met many e46 M3 owners younger than me and I'm 23. I'm impressed with how young a lot of you are, if this is all true. Bought mine last year as a bday/graduation present to myself I guess. This time next year I may have to start a new thread adding 'Forced Induction' to the title

im 27 now, bought my second m3.
first m3 when i was 18 with my moms money. I didn't ask for the car, she surprised me. I wanted a 350z -smh bought an 2007 a4 0 miles when i was 21 because i needed something reliable with my own money. bought my vert m3 because i needed to be a vert thug. 1 month ago hehe and ofcourse with my own salary. now i just have less funds for mods, i have to deal with rent/school/food/gas/clothes/parties/cc's/etc... - i think the e46 m3 is just the car ive always wanted since i saw a lsb one when i was about 15 at the miami beach car show.
