I need to know more about this engine in an E46. Im leaning twoard dropping one of these into my touring.

Any tips on doing the double vanos install on an m52/s52? Other than use the cams, trays, lifters and front vanos section from a m54. Do some of the bolt holes line up? Just machine off what doesn't? Haven't seen much info on how to do this.

All of them line up except the far left. I had it welded closed and retapped a new bolt hole a couple mm over. Added a little material to the left side for the gasket surface. It's really quite easy. Only cost me $60 for the welding and machine work iirc. For anyone interested just take a dual vanos gasket and put it on a single vanos head and you'll see how close everything is and what needs to be modified
