M track mode

Does anyone have this on their car? What are you impressions? Is it worth getting? I am trying to decide if it is worth it.

I have the Competition Pkg. I also track my car and have done so for several years so I know a little bit about car control.

M Track mode does reduce the amount of DSC. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never been on a track.

Is it worth it at all? No. It's pretty useless and just a "cool" feature. I turn DSC completely off at the track. DSC should be left on when you are on the street. If you have DSC kicking in "too much" when you are on the street either something is wrong with the car or something is wrong with the driver.

I agree with it being pointless. Just turn DSC off. You will learn your car better that way. M3's aren't hard to control.

Agreed. You definitely want dsc on to assist you while on public roads but drifting a bit at times and having much more self controll of the vehicle on the track is preferred so dsc off.

I have M track programmed in my car. It's a two stage DSC now. I use it a lot in the rain,and snow. It basically allows for straight line wheel spin and a higher slip angle,helping you from losing it on the road. For autoX I shut it full off. Pm me if you want some info or a link to how its programmed. I printed out all the instructions.

I have the comp package too, and I agree with the above. I never use it on the street, and its not needed on the track. If my local track didn't have so much run off room I could see it might be usefull. If you hold back because you're afraid of spinning, and slapping a wall for example. The M3 is so forgiving, it only takes a little throttle adjustment to get back in shape though.
