What kind of replacement bulb?

I'm extremely confused after reading through forum after forum.. I have a 2005 ZHP with the factory projectors.. I don't want to do the swap for the fx-r, I just want to keep the factory stuff. I want HID's though. I bought a cheap set at a car meet and they burnt out after a few months and they weren't any good. I know my car uses an H7 bulb... So why is everyone saying get these 66240 OSRAM which says it fits a DS2 slot?

If your car has factory HIDs, it takes D2S bulbs. If it has halogens, it takes H7 bulbs. If you do have halogens, then the Osram/Philips recommendations don't apply. I would just get whatever H7 bulb review well. I personally like the Osram Rallye 65W bulbs. Technically they're not legal since they're 65W (instead of 55), but they are quite a bit brighter, last longer, and retain the same focus point as the stock H7 bulbs. The car's wiring should be able to handle it without much issue.

Just checked my headlights and molded into the plastic it says H7 or DS2 so does that mean a DS2 HID Kit will fit properly?

Do your projectors say something like "Xenon" or "BMW Xenon" on the ring surrounding the lens? If so, they'll take D2S bulbs.

to make this easier, if your car is a sedan, then it has xenons (halogen sedans didn't come with projectors). If it's a coupe or convertible, then look at the projectors.

Xenon bulbs do not get rated in watts, the ballasts do.

Xenon bulbs get rated by color/temperature.

What color bulbs you want? OEM yellow or white?

Jeez get your thoughts together before making a million posts.

I told you, bulbs are not rated in wattage. Any D2S bulb will work with your stock ballasts.

Aftermarket bulbs suck, they are made of very bad materials and have bad light output. For yellow oem bulbs get Philips 85122+ and for white get Osram CBI. If not try Philips Ultinon. Then again my sticky in this section has all of that info.
