330ci ebay headers fuel
can somebody tell me something about fuel mileage
after installing those ebay headers (replicas of the supersprint) yes you'll get more hp yes the engine will sound more raspier but will it be more economical? or not? or the same? offcourse with normal driving bmw 330ci eu spec |

Good question: When you do any of these typical mods like headers, exhaust, pulleys, CAI, & or cams; you get something called Volumetric Efficiency (VE). More VE means your motor is breathing easier & more efficient, thus it will get better fuel mileage. Of course if your right foot is constantly in the throttle, well your fuel mileage will fall. So to see better fuel mileage, you'd need to set your cruise control at some highway speed & just cruise for awhile, it will show you better mileage compared to before your mods. Good luck.

in my experience gas mileage is about the same before and after. And I might be on the throttle a little more than I used to though.
Headers to make the exhaust a bit more raspy. Gains are nice though

I'm using Bimmer Brakes headers.
1) Power gain was nice. 2) Sound gain was nice, although I have a "pop pop pop pop pop" noise (no... not a leak... I think it's just uneven exhaust flow in the pipes. Fix it with an X pipe?). 3) I gained about 1 MPG average. Nothing too significantly noticeable.

For me fuel consumption was the same op... As for the pops i think SPDSKTR is talking about, ur gonna get them right after u let off the throttle if the car is in gear... That usually happens when revs r around 3k... I dont think it causes a problem since i have had this set up for almost 2 years and no problem...

I saw about 1-2 more mpgs. I deleted the rear resonator (otherwise stock exhaust w/ the exhaust flap open) and when it's cold it sounds a bit like E46 M3. Also noticed significantly more induction noise from the cold air intake after headers were installed. Overall great mod. Ebay headers =$100, selling stock manifolds for $200+. Nothing like getting paid for a mod.

Headers from BimmerBrakes.com are better quality than the eBay headers (no lips inside he flange for example) and will run you about $200. And I can get you a small discount (better than no discount!). PM me for details.
The popping noise... I think it's uneven pressure in the pipes since the headers are not equal length. It happens at idle up to about 3,500 RPM. Someone told me an x-pipe or H-pipe would fix it, but it runs great and that popping turns into screaming as the tachometer climbs. I don't think I want to change it. I do get some louder pops (much more obvious) when I let off in the mid range, but I love the way those sound, honestly.
