If you are replacing OEM with OEM, you can do just two. But remember that now your rears are going to be stiffer than the fronts and you'll just want to change them out anyway.

get stock shocks.
I went for Bilstein Sport, they are very bouncy when the road is rough.

Sensible, but could you resist the temptation of the M3...

Hey John I just had some work done( rt cv axle again) and found out my front struts are leaking. I may go with eibach springs and konis or oem. Just still reading and figuring it out.

I think I'm leaning towards oem and eibach to lower 1 inch all around on my wagon. I think that will keep ride comfortable I hope.

^ The springs make much more of a difference in terms of comfort than the shocks/struts do. You might as well go aftermarket with the shocks as well since it'll be cheaper.

I personally have Konis. I can vouch for them being great in terms of both reliability and ride quality but can't vouch for other brands. I know certain Bilstein models are prone to leaking but I can't speak to their overall reliability.

I called tire rack and they said they don't have koni or eibachs that fit the 325xiT??? Any suggestions on where to find them for my wagon? I think the guy on the phone is wrong but their website didn't provide options either for my ride.

Going to call manufacturers and see what they say.

I'm fairly certain that it's the same as a sedan...the front for sure is.

hey ed and folks,

from the last few reads it sounds like the koni springs and shocks will give me a more comfortable ride than the oem ones? i personally don't care about ride height. in fact, i'de rather be higher than lower since i do a ton of commuting and tons of winter commuting. the extra clearance will always help.

i'm going to switch out the front and rears. the fronts have 98k on them now and are most likely going to go in 1-2 years anyways. time is money and i'de rather do it all now.

i'm hearing so much about so many different combo's i don't really know what to do. i've read, i've read again and i've reread and it seems everyone says something different.

things i'm looking for:
quality handling (oem or better)
comfort (oem or better)
durability (i'm willing to sacrifice comfort but not handling for durability)

welcome to more suggestions.

also: what other parts do ya'll suggest replacing. i'm sure it's more than just springs and struts. i'm sure all the little things here and there should be changed as well.

bests,

john

actually answered some questions when i re-read the thread (ding ding).

time is money right now. in the next 4 months i have 2 half ironmans, 2 marathons, a half marathon, a 24 hour 200 mile relay race, a 5k and a 10k race...

anyone have an estimate on what shop prices (local garage) will cost for labor?

john

Just fix your car and you can drive all of that distance instead of running it.
