Steering wheels volume controllers

I got my 2004 325xi 6 weeks ago, and there is kinda weird problem with the volume controller on the steering wheels, once i start the car it works just fine for couple of minutes then it stops working completely...
i don't think it is a hardware issue, since it works for couple of minutes!!!
any help?

Having exact same problem. My research has led me to the clock spring being bad. Haven't had a chance to replace it yet though.

Would love to hear other opinions though.
