Shark Injector on Auto?

Hello everyone, just had a quick question, I have a 2004 330i ZHP with steptronic transmission and was wondering if I could do the tune? Read in some places that it was solely for the 6MT but read others that claimed worked on both.

Thanks!

Several years ago it Would NOT work, but Jim Conforti solved the issue of MS45.1 "Bricking" the ECU on some ZHP automatic transmissions installs.

So now, Yes it will work, buy from forum sponsor Turner Motorsport....

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-...05-models.aspx

Part number: N745330

"330i ZHP Rev Limit: there are multiple versions of stock ZHP software and BMW used different rev limits in some of them. A ZHP automatic will always have a lower rev limit than a manual in the interest of preserving the automatic transmission. Our engine software will alter the rev limit set in the ECU but other limits in the auto transmission programming will maintain the factory rev limit. Manual ZHPs have stock rev limits that vary - some are set as high as 6920 by the factory software. The Shark ZHP software sets all manual tranmission rev limits to 6920."

MS45 steptronic here, no problems flashing with shark. 325Ci, not a ZHP though.

2004 330i ZHP Step with Shark - yes it does work, definitely woke up the car and throttle response itself is great

I Sharked my 2004 325iT Auto trans. Definitely made a noticeable improvement. Even the shift in manual mode feel better. I think this is due to the sharpened throttle response but >6500 rpm it shifts instantaneous.

question for you guys with shark injectors...is it just throttle response you feel the difference or do you actually feel it pull harder? Cause I know it eliminate the delay from the throttle but that's not really considered a power boost more like a response boost.

sorry to jack your thread.

it's just throttle response and some low end torque improvement. There's no HP gain that I know of.

There are Countless dyno's showing that a Shark Inj. makes 5 to 10 WHP depending on the motor & ECU model it's applied to. My shark install dynoed at 6.5 WHP.....

Thanks for all the info guys! Yeah I was just wondering because just the throttle response for me is worth the $ spent on the shark. I was also wondering about HP gains as for the ZHP model it is said to be +11hp +10tq.

No worries! I too was wondering the same thing.. I just want to be certain before splashing out the extra $$ as I also need a new battery soon.

I believe that under the right circumstances with the ZHP, intake + exhaust + SI, is when you can feel 11+hp 11+tq.

Is the device reusable? The website says it is but I just wanted to see if any of you have plugged it into/reprogrammed 2 different cars successfully.

You need to send it back to Turner Motorsports so they can Unlock it for a $50 dollar fee as long as you're the Original purchaser. Changing the program to a completely different one costs $150 dollars.
