Anyone here dabble in the stock market? I'm not talking day trading, maybe just weekly/monthly trading? look into a company and buy a thousand or so let it go up (or hopefully not down) for a week or two and sell?

Actually, it's called swing trading, and yes it does work for many of us.

Yeah I've done pretty good on a week/month basis, (no where near what a daytrader does- but I also work full time and check out the market on lunch etc.)

I'm also into buying things that could be long term gainers an keep them, pretty much a different mindset than the daytraders.

Hope you have a nicely sized fund if you want to trade weekly... otherwise time spent and, if any, gains made are not really worth it.

Some might disagree with me but I'm talking over $20,000 at least... I've never been one for the penny market.

Plus I'm not talking about making thousands of dollars a day/week/month (it would be nice but...) I'm just talking about spending a $100 on some penny stuff that has potential or a little more for $2-5 ones. After they go up sell make a few bucks. It won't be a primary source of income whatsoever.

Don't touch penny stocks with any money you wouldn't put on the roulette table...

you will lose your shorts in no time. buy dividend paying stocks and reinvest. if you want to play games with stocks, there are online games to occupy yourself with.

I have liked the penny stuff since I first started (had one skyrocket) prolly just lucky on it, have been pretty consistent though.

(plus there isn't a table readily available)

Yes on gains that are decent I buy shares in solid cos.

You know there are fees its not hey they are selling at $10 you can get them for ten and when you sell aswell if they go up by a 1% and you sell you will still lose and a small uptick isnt worth the time
