Got a new set of Titleist AP2 Played a quick 9 on saturday shot a 43. If anyone is in the market for a set of Titleist 755 pm me. Selling them CHEAP

Hey, I'm just getting into golf and was wondering what kind of clubs a beginner should start off with. I am looking at a set of r11's but I'm not sure if I should be starting off with such a advanced club. First time on a golf course last week shot a 93.

R11's are nice clubs, its entirely up to you if you want to spend over $600 on a new set.

i think its time we bring this thread back to life...

finally joined a course this year, already been out a dozen or so times in the past few weeks, loving every second of it. i played a lot in high school (11 years ago) and have slowly slipped away from the game, i think i only golfed 4-5 times last year. Not anymore... getting back into my swing. Started off the year shooting high 40's (9 hole obviously,) blah... but that turned around quickly. My last 4 or so rounds I've been shooting bogey golf essentially. 44, 43, 43, 44 were my last rounds.

Time to maybe take a few lessons, keep working on my swing, and hopefully i can break 40 this year at my course. I would love to get back to shooting under 90 on a fairly consistent basis.

The lineup is as follows

Driver - None so far, but I am keeping an eye out on a good deal for the Taylor Made 3.0 Burner, 9.5 stiff flex. I am killing it with their 3 wood, but I am open to suggestions.
3 wood - TM 3.0 Superfast Burner, i'm hitting this off the tee and am getting a solid 240ish out of it if not more, very consistent.
Adam's Golf GT2 irons.
White Ice mallet putter

Eventually I am going to get better irons, but for now, these are perfectly fine.

I just played 4 rounds in Myrtle Beach, SC 2 weeks ago. 18 at Pine Lakes, 36 at World Tour and last 18 at Arcadian Shores.

Driver: Titleist 905 9.5*
3 Wood: Titleist something lol
Irons: Titleist AP2
Wedges: Titleist Vokey 52,56,60
Putter: Scotty Cameron Red X3

I still have those Titles 755 for sale lol

I'm playing weekly in a league, so lots of great practice. My first two outings sucked, shot a 53 both rounds
Realistically I can probably shoot mid/low 40's at my absolute best, but there are always 2-3 holes that just screw me over.

Right now I'm playing an ollllllllld set of Callaway Big Bertha irons that I got about 16 yrs ago in high school. Yeah, we're talking about maybe one version newer than the original. I'm looking to buy something new this year though if I can find the right deal.

In only a few short weeks, I've been noticing that my game is improving on saving par and shooting for bogey. Back a month ago, I was getting several double bogeys through 9, and it was killing my score. Within the last week, I can proudly say that my last round I had one triple bogey (water hazard + a goddamn 3 putt on a par 4)... with that being said, it was a stupid mistake on my end that i could have easily hit for bogey...

that would have put me at a 41 for the first 9... which i would take allllllll day long. just keep playing and you'll notice that those crappy holes will disappear one by one...

i'll think about it... i'll be honest, i'm not in the market for irons yet... I have Adam's Golf GT2 which are... idk, they are ok for the time being. I wanted to wait until my game got much better/consistent before I started really looking into irons. That is a great price tho and I would hand over $125 all day long for those.

Live to see this thread back up! I've only been out once this year mainly to get my swing down. Almost quit last year after I went through a rough patch of shooting high 50s on 9....ouch! I'm usually around mid to low 40s.

Went to the range the other day and had someone take a few pictures. It is really eye opening how brutal my swing is!

Starting to hit the ball better, playing in a charity best ball tourney Thursday so hopefully ill be getting back into it.

I should have someone take a picture of my swing. It feels good, but pictures are very telling.

I've gone out three times this year. The first round was my worst round with 118, second was my better round with a 106 on the same course, third round was at a completely new course hit a 108. Really have to work on my putting. Way too many 3 putts

How are you liking that R11? I can find the 3.0 Burner (from Dick's only) for $150, but a used R11 will run me $200ish... I'd rather have brand new, and the 3.0 3W is working amazing for me thus far so I really want to see what I can do with that driver...

My league partner hits the R11 and loves it. It isn't forgiving but when it hits the sweet spot it is gooooone.

I love the R11, it really helped my slice once I adjusted it. Also added about 30-40 yards to my drive when I hit it well. I drove the green on a par 4 (330 yards to the center, I hit it about 310) and it felt awesome.... if only my putting were better.

Flip the club upside down with the shaft point to the ground. Get in your stance, and take a full swing like you normally would do. You should hear the swoosh "After-contact" NOT on the downswing. It's helped me hit the ball a lot cleaner. Not hitting behind the ball anymore. Starting to make those nice divots after the ball.

310+ yards? That's some tour ish right there.

I played a quick nine after work yesterday. Shot 46, missed 4-5 putts within 5 feet for Pars... I like to say its the putter, but its definitely me. LOL

haven't got on the course this year yet - only had the snow disappear a week or so ago - noticed one of the courses in town was open thou - can't wait to get out.

Played noticeably better last night - my driver was very "on" last night, which was great.

My scores for the past 3 weeks:

5/7: 53
5/14: 47
