I'm quite confused now...
Have the GEN1 installed with modified control arm (got rid of wrong left arm cast, was too loose). It works perfect now. 3 weeks ago I saw NEW GEN2 fcab's out by UUC and decided to go for them, but when I realized that they incorporate same design as Powerflex, I kinda stopped. Tobe honest, price difference stopped me, Powerflex worth $100 (without brackets) and UUC worth $280 shipped (including brackets). $180 is too much just for the brackets even though Rob says that the material is more durable... Any other pros GEN1 vs GEN2 vs Powerflex? |

Visual differences aside (they are all doing the same job, an isolated rotating connection point for your front control arms), the most important aspect of the UUC part is the quality of the urethane itself, how long it lasts. We do not expect you to see the cracking/crumbling that has occurred with other brands.
Price differences exist, but take into account the re-installation cost of a failed set plus the inconvenience.

Hey guys, I had these installed today with the help of some friends.. First off, I want to make clear that I haven't had sufficient time to feel for the benefits that come with these poly FCABs. Having upgraded from a set of no-name generics, I'm glad that I went with the UUC name. I don't get the design of the carriers. That's the only thing that strikes me as weird right now. Anyways, off to test drive some more...

OK. I solved the confusion that I was having. It turns out that I placed an order for the E46 M3 variant of the part, and the FCA carriers have a slightly different design. I suppose that the M3's reinforcement plate bolts up to the carriers? (educated guessing here)
The bushings are fantastic. The last set of OEM bushings that I ran lasted just over 10k miles. By comparison, I expect UUC's word that these bushings will last the remaining life of the car. The experience from driving on the worn bushings is, of course, night and day. No more shuddering under braking from speed, more response from steering wheel to vehicle at turns. Here's to hoping that the rest of my suspension will keep up |

i'm currently getting ready to order new FCAB's wish price was in my budget.. doing my suspension at the same time so i cannot put up $239 + shipping as much as it seems like a good idea for the long run... damn BMW maintenance.. have to go with Meyle for now

They look great! It's too bad that UPS is the only shipping option to Canada.

Why does it look like a Glorified PowerFlex Bushing? I have over 45k on mine and Works Well. Just have to use the Right Lube...
