SMG II rebuild into a manual ??

As I understand it the Smg box is essentially a manual box inside, I need a manual box and am wondering if it's possible to change some parts and rebuild the Smg into a manual, simply for the fact that the Smg box appears to be worthless second hand thus won't fund towards a manual box ???

Which one so you actually have ???There are 2, one is called SSG and was on Non-M cars and one SMG found on M3 only.

SSG Part number 23017507177 / GS6S37BZ , its a different unit from M3 trans. M3 has Getrag S6S 420G / 23002229786

I know that M3 SMG can be converted to a manual and here is what I could find.

I however have no idea if you can convert a non-m SSG box into a manual
