Sleeper status

Sleeper means speed and power not apparent from just looking at the car

Thanks guys,
car is still running great and I'm working on getting some real video footage.

here's 5-60 with A/C on on a hot day.

on the new I ordered a set of Status Gruppe M racing headers and still deciding on 3.91 or 4.10 final drive, probably get those in over winter...

This thing is incredible. I'm just in love with it. This is exactly how I would do it. Total sleeper status. In addition to the swap, your suspension setup and wheels are also excellent. I just love how practical it is. If I were to ever do this, I would be tempted to either leave my 330i badge on the back or re-badge with 332i.

Can't wait to see more photos/videos!

For $7k in install costs that should of AT LEAST been included. I'd go as far to include new rod bearings too.

Awesome build. Add new hood latches to your list. The rust takes away the engine bay appeal.

I've decided to keep the clears for now, might change back to them in time

Valve Adjustment was done when the motor was out of the car

Hood latches are in the near future.

UPDATE,

Getting tinted soon, either 35 o 50% all around and thinking of moving to up to a s62 instead of going FI, but that wouldn't be until next year.

yeah, the DME for the s54 and s62 is are pretty much the same, but it's not so easy and Epic who I bought my DME from is doing big things. In the near future, should be able to plug and play a s62 but it'll still need a bunch of other custom chit to make it a legitimate street car.

Update

I ended up getting tints 50 front and 35 all around the back. Also installed a Hotchkis Front Sway Bar, Vibra Technics Motor Mounts, and a BMW Performance Short Shift Kit with the Rogue Engineering Delrin Bushings. I also switched to 35 offset from 38 offset rear wheels, besides that just driving it daily and loving it...

so been daily driving this thing 2+ years now and still loving every second of it. My newest upgrade is a Dinan 3.91 LSD which I got a few weeks ago. Still have less than 45,000 miles on it and here's how I'm rolling right now:
Engine: s54 swap with EPIC tuning on Vibra-Technic motor mounts
Exhaust: OEM US spec headers; Borla V2 mid-pipe; custom Magnaflow axle back
Drivetrain: JB lightweight flywheel; BMW Performance Short Shift Kit w/ Rogue delrin bushings; OEM ZF 6spd on Rogue Trans mounts; complete M3 rear axle w/ Dinan 3.91 LSD; TMS front and rear subframe reinforcements welded in;
Suspension: TC Kline SA Koni yellows F/R and Hotchkis springs; Vorshlag camber plates w/ Z3 tower reinforcements; M3 front strut tower brace; Hotchkis front sway bar; Turner adjustable rear camber arms
Wheels/Tires; Apex 18x8.5 38 offset, 18x9.5 35 offset; Michelin Pilot Super Sports 225/40/18 front, 255/35/18 rear(summer) 17 generic rims w/ Blizzaks(winter)

Hope to be doing some more cool things soon

*edit, just bought a used Brembo front BBK will have it ready for next summer at the latest

This is probably a blast to drive. How do you even get away with 50% tint in VA. I got pulled over in my M5 a few months ago with 35% tint, luckily he let me go. Told me I had a nice car, LOL!

You never got headers?

I can only imagine what kind of epic reactions you must get when someone tries to race you thinking you have a stock ZHP
