Lug Centric?

so ive heard of hub centric, and if a wheel is not hub centric, i was under the impression that you would always have to use a hub ring. However, i am now being told that "lug centric" is also feasible if using the correct lug nuts. Is this true or is the guy telling me this full of ****?

Also, how sturdy is a lug centric wheel vs the hub centric

IDK what lugcentric means but there are different style lugs. Maybe he was referring to this?

I think i got it... cars/wheels which are not hub centric require the use of lug centric bolts to center the wheels. When i looked it up I found alot of 4x4 forums.

Basically all that lug centric means is that the wheel is NOT hub centric. In other words, the only means of centering the wheel on the hub is by tightening the lugs with the wheel in the air. Also, all bolts I know have a seating on the bolt that matches up with the wheel. I have never heard of a special 'lug centric bolt' .

Wheel durability has nothing to do with whether or not the wheel is lug or hub centric. Lug centric wheels are usually fine for off road vehicles, and maybe some trucks and SUVs, but they aren't something you should be using on a 3 series as these cars are much more sensitive to vibration problems.
