Sound & HP of aftermarket headers w/ stock exhaust?

I researched power mods for my 330ci and found that headers & tune squeezes all the power you can out of the BMW engine. Does anyone have any videos or insight for how aftermarket headers sound mated with the stock exhaust? I saw one video on YouTube and it sounded terrible...

Also what is the realistic power gain - can I get +30 hp to the flywheel?

Thanks

Headers should see about 14 to 15 plus WHP, Shark Injector will see about 6 WHP. So those two pieces will yield about 19 to 21 WHP.

Consider buying the more expensive BB equal length headers, they'll provide better mid range torque.

I made 35 WHP on the Dyno using:

1) Ebay Header
2) Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust 16533
3) K&N CAI
4) Power Pulleys (Under-drive)
5) Shark Injector
6) NGK BKR7EIX Plugs

Good luck,
Rob43

Nice, thank you for the useful info (vs. those 2 bozos above you). Does that include a custom tune? That sounds impressive.. 35 whp = around 50 hp right?

You shouldn't name call,.....they may end up helping you down the road; or not.

The Shark Injector is probably the biggest selling "off the self" tune. Forum sponsor Turner Motorsports sells them.

About 42 to 43 Crank HP.

Thats around 40 flywheel at 17% loss. Add cams to that and you will get another another 15-25 WHP depending what you get.

I still have stock exhaust and BimmerBrake SS headers. It honestly sounds exactly the same as stock in normal driving conditions except give or take 5-10% more volume to it. On cold starts it'll be a little louder until it lowers to a normal idle speed, when you drive normally it'll sound the same as stock, but when you're under WOT it'll get raspier and maybe 15% louder. But in the end, by no means is it loud or anywhere close to loud so you won't get any unwanted attention from anyone. The difference is so minimal, you won't notice it except under WOT and you definitely won't notice any change in exhaust note unless you're outside of the car having someone else drive. The worst sounding part of headers is revving with no load on the engine, sitting at a standstill and revving produces the most amount of rasp but idk why you'd want to do that anyway after the initial install to see how it sounds. That's just my experience, everyone's might differ.
