My 330xi Touring project

Hey guys, this is my 2nd e46. I picked it up to replace my e36

So the story starts with me finding the car on ebay under completed listings. It was listed for cheap but had already sold. I was devestated as it had every option i wanted. I took a shot in the dark and emailed the seller asking if he still had the car. Long story short the stars aligned, he still had the car and i managed to pick it up for a whopping $1500

Now the car needed an alternator and didn't run well. Well the " not running well " ended up being 30psi compression on cylinder 6 which resulted in an engine swap

Here are some photos along the way

The first drive home

Engine coming out slowly but surely. It took about 2 days of solid work to get the bulk of the work done. The 3rd day was buttoning up things that were missed ( like a ground wire not hooked up or a coolant leak )

The new m54b30 being assembled to drop in

All complete and ready to drive

Some fun pictures i took

ZHP gauge cluster

With everything running solid i took it out to VIR on the track for some fun. It performed exactly as you would expect with stock suspension and basic 205 all season tires . It was alot of fun and it made for a great pace car

Soon to come is this 6 speed manual transmission from a 03-05 330xi

Oh and here is my option list ( roughly )

5 speed
sports package
Navigation
Harman kardon sound system
PDC
Roof rack
Premium package
Xenon headlights

A pretty rare set of options for a wagon, all i'm missing is a cold weather package

Soon to come

Mtech 2 front bumper
Stock e46 18 inch wheels ( I will be running 4 front wheels )
M3 steering wheel
M3 gray seats
Koni yellows + H&R OE sport springs

Its going to make for a great daily drive and i'm in love with it. Let me know what you guys think and thanks for reading.

Just some fun updates to the car

ZHP front bumper ( not painted yet )

M3 heated seats and M3 steering wheel

New BBS RX 17x8 wheels with 245/40-17 tires, also numbers for the track

135i brakes and 330 rotors ( remember this was a 325i so i had to upgrade from those to start with. I got the 135 calipers for a great deal so it was a no brainer)

Some track action

Also its been pretty well traveled, it went out a 7000 mile trip to San Francisco and back

Grand canyon

Stopped by umnitza and got the ZHP bumper while i was out there too

mmmm Pacific Coast Highway

Are the 135i calipers a direct fit or did you have to get adapters?

They're a direct fit but the fitment isn't 100%. The bracket needs to be machined slightly to allow the caliper closer to the rotor so the pad makes 100% contact.
