Good luck with your ethical dilemma.
But my SULEV is not damaged and runs perfect. It has a "lifetime" fuel pump that might run for another 50-100k miles, who knows. I might decide to just keep driving it and deal with the fuel pump issue if/when something happens. It's just a weekend cruiser and not a daily driver, so I have some flexibility.

I don't believe it is unethical to sell someone a car that runs perfectly the way it was designed. I don't see a responsibility of the seller to inform the buyer of all potential repairs they might incur to operate a vehicle. It's not the seller's responsibility to provide $ amounts on costs the buyer someday might have on repairs and maintenance. That is the buyer's responsibility. Who knows with any used car, the engine might blow up before you get it back home.

I've had people inquire about my 325 and I always tell them that an old BMW will need maintenance and it is generally more expensive than other cars to operate, so they should know what they are getting into.

As long as you don't provide any false information, I don't see it as unethical. It is just an interesting subject, not so much a dilemma.

Like most of you, I love my car, but I have 145k, so it's going to be sold in the next year. Does anyone think it is unethical to sell the SULEV without informing the purchaser about the issues related to the SULEV fuel pump replacement? Mine is damn near perfect with natural brown interior and runs like a striped ass ape. (not sure what that means, but an old friend of mine use to always say that)
If that first picture is of your car, then it's not a SULEV. Pre-facelift cars didn't get the M56.

a person can have stellar ethics without being a christian, or believing in god.

This is a picture of my engine. If you can somehow make it NOT and SULEV, I'll shake your hand or buy you a Daniel Webster cigar.

The production of pre-facelift coupes ran into the 2003 MY, but I've never seen one fitted with an M56 engne. Now I have.

Interesting. I stand corrected! This is the first one I've ever seen. Must've been a very small overlap with the coupes and verts.

Is it possible for someone to post a picture of their Fuel Tanks? I took some pictures of mine and mine has a part on there that says made in Mexico, the dealer told me this was altered and is not original.

Can anyone confirm this? Where were these gas tanks made? A picture would be great to compare thanks.

So which part do you need a picture of? Or just that general area?

I posted pics above. One of the hoses is like through a little opening in the axle. Just whatever hoses and connectors you see going to the gas tank.

Passenger towards the middle it was kinda in there, maybe your shields blocked it. Were these cars made in mexico? Along with the gas tank?
