Car pulls left when braking?

When Im at higher speeds and brake, the car pulls left hard. The higher the speed, the more it pulls. Anybody know what could be done of this?

I have the same issue and I suspect theres something to do with brakes.
I am seeing more brake dust one side than the other so I think the brake pressure is not the same side to side.
Been thinking about rebuilding the calipers and rebleed the system.

could be brakes - how many miles on the car?
could be alignment - did you mod the suspension? did you hit a pothole(s)?
could be worn out suspension- how many miles on your suspension?
did you check tire pressure? yes, sometimes it's as simple as different tire pressures.

Your other car is a bagged passat.

Is this E46 of yours stanced by any chance? Any teenage lowering mods? If so, that's your answer.

In any event, replace your entire suspension.

I would say its either ruts in the road (tramlining of the tires). Or your FCAB's are worn.

front control arm ball joint problem. Causing one wheel are not aligned straight when braking.

My left ball joint is creaking and need replacement, so when i brake, the steer wheel turns left a bit,.

dano,

Yes, it can be many reasons. I hope it's just terribly inaccurate air pressure, maybe combined with something else.

Start reading threads about braking, cabs, but first, just check your air pressure. If you did hit a pothole, you could have smashed a cab on one side...and that would tend to make the car pull towards that side.

Anyway, read up on stuff...you'll have to start getting into it, because it's certainly something.

Also, don't ignore Mango entirely...just the way he says what he says! He's on his 'teenage' routine this week. Last week he wanted to know if OPs owned beagles...I'm not sure what that was about, but it seemed odd.

I had the exact same problem. Had it aligned twice, full suspension and brakes look over and everything was ok. I checked the tread depth on front tires and the driver's side was slightly more worn than the passenger. I swapped the two sides now it pulls to the right. New set of tires next payday. It's not an ideal solution but it was definitely the cause of my problem

i had the same problem. The brake fluid pressure was uneven. I had my pads, rotors, lines and fluid changed. The problem went away.

can someone explain to me how warped rotors make you pull to one side?

warped rotors would vibrate at high speed, not pull to one side when braking.

mis-aligned car pulls to one side all the time,

wheel balance should make it vibrate but only at a certain speed...

sticky caliper or guide and or FCAB makes more sense...

This. I had bad FCAB's before and you would only feel a quick "twitch" in the steering wheel towards the direction of the bad FCAB when applying the brakes.

Is one of your wheels dusting more than the others? And if so is said wheel hot as hell after driving?
