its honestly one of safest cars. Thats why i laugh when some in a civic or nissan (older nissans) you know ill smoke your m3 but then a small pebble in the road would tear through the car. Flip a several times at 186mph in bmw walk away.

Flip a civic at any speed could be standing still, the roof will fold up like origami and your head will take direct blow.

hahaha, u hate some civics huh.

Anyone whos done the BMW factory tour will see the lil rollover test they do, with car straight off the assembly line.
Its at slow speed, but they do checks to make sure nothing structurally moves at low speed.
I think all BMWs have to be able to support their weight on the A and B pillars.

unless something punches through the cab, most times the passengers will be fine. plus airbags all around too.

How the heck does someone fail to stop?

Ah, its the autobahn, there are unrestricted portions there. Its actually quite normal in the unrestricted parts.
Ive been doing 120 and been passed like i was parked.

Its nothing like the US. totally different mentality. That driver will probably not face any charges, and the idiot that fed the accident is in more trouble.

Gotta love Germany dude, no place like it.

see my previous post. He knows he fuctup and prolly killed someone because of his failure to merge properly.
If dude was doing that speed in the M5 he had to have been in the left lane.
That means jackass got on the autobahn and jumped straight to the left lane instead of the right.

You dont do that in Germany. Its stupid and dangerous.

I couldn't imagine how awful it would be to watch your father/brother flip a car in front of you going 180 mph.

Wow they are lucky. Glad they weren't seriously injured. It was good that they were being followed, quickness with the fire being put out.

This happens in the US too often.

Yeah but its worse there, because traffic could be closing on you at over 100+ mph difference.
The fuker that fled should be glad the M5 driver chose the guard rail rather than to ass pack him at those speeds. Cause surely the end result wouldve been very diferent.

Everybody does rollover tests. The weight a vehicle must support on its roof (I believe 2.5x is the standard) is mandated by federal governments. No car can be sold here in North America without meeting or exceeding that standard. The vast majority of vehicles today not only meet this requirement but exceed it by double.

The F10 is a safe car (probably the safest--but by a tiny margin) but I know this because I've studied the data/measurements put out by EuroNCAP, IIHS, and NHTSA. The Mercedes E-Class has a slightly stronger roof. The latest generation of cars use super exotic-ultra high tensile strength still (brand new formula first seen in I think the 2006-era Mitsubishi Galant) in certain parts of the car.

No matter how strong a car's body is, physics rule at the end of the day. Your internal organs can only take so many g-forces.
